The most difficult hard-to-find components are the scsi/ide board and the card reader as shown in the picture. This is the way to go if you want to go beyond 1GB. AKAI S6000 with an internal non-hotswappable scsi compact flash reader/writer drive (capable of using any size flash card up to 64GB)

 Early this year, we successfully modified an Akai MPC2000 by adding an internal card reader. There were additional parts required for this modification. The reader/writer drive is non-hotswappable but with the 1.72 operating system, access up to 16GB is possible. We sold the MPC2000 to one lucky user.

 The degree of difficulty is very high. Space is tight inside the sampler. Cutting of power wires is required. We feel that electrical knowledge is important for this mod. This mod is NOT for most users.

No procedure and no support will be provided for this modification.
